Can You Use Divination to Anticipate Big Global and National Events?

by | Feb 6, 2024 | Tarot

Since Covid, I’ve learned that it can be very important to look for big shifts coming your way. For months before March 2020, my daily readings warned me that something monumental was looming, and it would affect my family. At first, I didn’t know how to get more information, or which of my tarot and oracle decks would be best for this kind of reading.

And because I wasn’t sure how to proceed, I spent weeks and months testing out decks and questions, recording my readings, and watching what happened next. And when I figured out what the Universe was trying to say to me, I still wasn’t sure what it all meant.

But over time, I learned.

Here are 4 of the most important things I discovered:

  1. You need a frequent divination practice to catch global and national shifts—what I call “transpersonal events”. Most of the time, we ask questions about our daily lives when we read cards, and these are the answers we get. But over time, the Universe will sneak in advice and sometimes warnings about bigger shifts to come.

If you read several times a week, you’ll start seeing these patterns emerge—cards that don’t seem to address you personally—sometimes they will even jump out of the deck! When you see repeated cards of this kind, you’ll know something bigger is coming.
  1. Use multi-card and clarification draws. In other words, don’t be afraid to pull additional cards. When you lay down several cards at once, patterns will emerge quickly and clearly. Replacing your daily single-card draw with a 3-card draw will speed things up immensely! And don’t be afraid to add one or two extra clarification cards to make the message even clearer. But be careful—too many clarification cards tends to muddy the waters.

  2. Use the right decks, and mix them up. Don’t rely on just your favorite! You can either alternate decks, or mix different decks together in the same reading. I do both. You can even add in I Ching readings or other divination tools to double-check your interpretations. I love my round Motherpeace tarot deck, but I use specific oracle card decks as well as other tools for transnational readings.

The Mildred Payne Secret Pocket Oracle is one of my favorites. The latest versions contain cards that pinpoint transpersonal events, as well as cards that can help you prepare for them. It’s easy to learn and highly intuitive, so I’d begin here (incidentally, I’m not an affiliate of the Mildred’s creator—it’s just a good tool for reading global and national events).

  3. Don’t get upset if you can’t make sense of what’s coming right away. Just record your readings and review them regularly. In late 2019, I Ching hexagrams told me that something terrible was coming, and the Mildred deck kept saying that the best thing I could do was pay careful attention to my surroundings. This made me angry. Surely there was something practical I could do to make things better! “Nope,” said the Mildred. “You can be extremely vigilant (Card 10: Eye).”

And when Covid came, I learned that there was nothing I could do but be vigilant about cleaning all my surfaces, limiting my contact with others, and wearing my mask. Suddenly, I understood.

These are just a few of the most important things you can do to spot big global and transnational events. There are others. Stay tuned—I’ll be demonstrating how to do transnational readings using Facebook and Instagram Lives this year, and I’ll be posting videos about it my YouTube Channel over the coming months.

This makes sense. Since I’ve you divination either way of reading the patterns of the universe and seeing where it’s going, I would expect to want more varied tools when looking at a more diverse landscape such as trans-personal instead of interpersonal. Did you get any further insight on the late 2023 readings?

Actually, I made an error when I first put in that date. I meant to write, “In late 2019…” not “In late 2023…” I’ve now corrected this. What I meant to say is that in 2019, I got repeated warnings that something challenging was coming, and repeated efforts to clarify what I could do to prepare yielded the same answer: “All you can do is be vigilant”. I didn’t understand this. Looking back at this much later, I realized that these warnings were all about the new pandemic—because in that first year+, all we could do was be vigilant and watchful: clean all surfaces, wear masks, and stay home. The divination was accurate…I just didn’t have the experience or understanding to interpret it correctly at the time.
